What is Guandian Arena?
Guandian Arena is a source-available, real-time audience voting system that connects audience phones, a host console, and a shared stage screen during a live debate.
What kinds of events does it support?
It is designed for debates, panel discussions, school events, company workshops, community salons, and other in-person events where the audience takes a position.
Do audience members need an app or an account?
No. They scan a QR code and join in a mobile browser. An anonymous device identity keeps the current stance for that browser.
Can an audience member change their vote?
Yes. Until the host locks voting, an audience member can switch between the affirmative and negative sides. The system updates one current stance per device instead of adding duplicate votes.
Can a stance change after voting is locked?
No. Once the host locks the result, the audience view stops accepting stance changes and the stage screen presents the final result.
What can the host console control?
The host can configure the motion and speakers, advance event stages, select speakers, monitor live state, moderate audience messages, and lock the final result.
What appears on the stage screen?
The screen can show the join QR code, motion, event stage, current speaker and timer, vote movement, moderated messages, and the final result.
How is it different from a standard poll?
A standard poll usually collects one answer. Guandian Arena is organized around the debate process and shows how audience positions change as people hear each side.
Is the project open source?
The source code is public on GitHub, but the repository does not currently include an open-source license. Contact the author before copying, modifying, distributing, or using it commercially.
Can I deploy it myself?
The README explains local setup. A production deployment still needs its own domain, runtime, persistent storage, security configuration, and compliance with the repository's current permission notice.
